FriendFeed is down this morning. This is the first time I've ever seen it down, so this is the first time I've had to deal with the pain of missing it. When I see the Twitter fail whale I generally shrug my shoulders, chuckle a little, and say something like, "Poor Twitter is struggling again," but for the most part I don't really care. I can live without it.
FriendFeed being down is serious stuff, however. I've come to depend on it. I feel completely out of the flow at this moment. I have to change my routine, and I'm at a loss to remember what the old routine was like. Google Reader? I don't like this one bit. So what does this tell me? FriendFeed must be the the real deal. I can only hope they're not down for long. Is writing this blog post just a stalling tactic to avoid having to revert to older ways of working?
UPDATE: The Ontario Emperor thinks the unthinkable: What if FriendFeed and Twitter failed simultaneously?
