Google Spreadsheet forms for surveys

While I'm mentioning Google Docs I need to talk about a new feature that has been added to Google Spreasheets: Stop sharing spreadsheets, start collecting information:

We're really excited to bring you forms! Create a form in a Google Docs spreadsheet and send it out to anyone with an email address. They won't need to sign in, and they can respond directly from the email message or from an automatically generated web page. Creating the form is easy: start with a spreadsheet to get the form, or start by creating the form and you'll get the spreadsheet automatically.

I know this news is almost two months old, but I just got around to playing with it last week when I created several survey forms. Doing so was incredibly easy, and this is some very cool stuff. The data you collect is injected directly into your spreadsheet for analysis.

The only thing missing with this is the generation of widgets. If you could create a widget, then you could drop the survey forms directly onto your web sites. I expect Google to add this functionality sometime soon.
