Today's ride information

I have a Garmin Edge 305 bike computer that has a built-in GPS. I was twittering about today's ride, The Frostbite Tour, and someone asked about the route. So, I'm uploading a skitch of the map created from the stored data. I love this sort of stuff.

I'll have to think about how I might blog and upload ride information while doing RAGBRAI this summer. Power and Internet access would seem to be the two big issues to be resolved. Trivial.

I am interested in what you come up with for RAGBRAI. I am interested in tackling the same problem for a pending (as yet unfunded :-( team RAAM event in June. I would like to real time blog ala twitter and have the stream combined with photos and GPS info.

Will do.

I've been playing with Google Earth today after uploading the GPS data. That is way cool. I'd love to do a GE "tour" of the entire ride.

Thanks for your comment!

If we started and finished at the same place, why do the eleveations look different on the graph?

Hmmm, that is interesting. Perhaps the earth moved? It was a long ride... it had plenty of time to move.

Going to look at that some more.
