Twitter vs Facebook at Publishing 2.0

Scott Karp at Publishing 2.0 has been living a Twitter/Facebook experiment, Web Communication Experiment: First Round Goes To Twitter, and he has declared an early winner:

Twitter is in many ways like Google — just type into a box, hit enter, and get results. Simple, elegant, highly usable. It’s self-evident how to use Twitter, also just like Google.

And yes, I am giving this post a shoutout because he points to a tweet of mine. :)

Interesting article. My experience has been very different. I think that is because I was the instigator in a group of friends and I invited a group to join Facebook. I already had some built in peers.

Thanks for your comment. I think my experience on Twitter was much the same as yours on FB. I think it's the same dynamic.

I was on FB long before Twitter, but I think that my Twitter social network is more developed. I suspect now that FB is open to everyone that I will see some shifting of focus in time.
