Brazilian airline to offer inworld service

I was reading about the Brazilian airline TAM setting up flight services within Second Life. Basically, they are building virtual destinations that correspond to the locations they fly in the real world.

My first thought was, "How silly is this? We can just TP to these places ourselves." Then I came to this:
Of course, avatars can fly there on their own, or we can take them there, free of charge, for which they get frequent flier points and gifts like a virtual aircraft or clothes," a company spokesman said ahead of TAM's Second Life launch on Friday.

Ahhh, how cool is that. Now if the frequent flier miles can be redeemed in RL they've got a winner. I'm also hoping that the inworld service is some better than we find in RL. I wonder if they will build in weather delays? Anyway, I'm going to have to give it a try.

I'm continuously amazed at the innovative things people keep coming up with in Second Life.

Sorry about the bump.. teach me to proof better.. They are really using an unique way of selling their brand.. but there is a lesson for educators in SL.. why can't we have frequent learning points.. We should be using these sort of techniques.. It will be interesting to see what happens..
