Why Ben is blogging again...

I‘ve been traveling and crazy busy and have seriously fallen behind in posting. Sorry! I have so much I want to share, and this weekend I will be busy blogging.

I want to start by sharing this post from my colleague Ben MacNeill: Why I'm bloggin again who returned to blogging this week after a short hiatus. If you will remember, I posted a few weeks back about the bloggers I read the most, and that those that garner the highest percentage of my attention are my colleagues:

If you've been thinking about blogging, and don't think you have anything to say, think about your closest colleagues and family (think of your list of eight) and write for them. They really do want to know what's got your attention, what's important to you, and what you're thinking.

I traveled to a meeting earlier this week with two of my colleagues, and the discussion of blogging came up over dinner. Interestingly enough, these two colleagues were the only members of my closest work group (both on my list of 8) without active blogs. I remarked that I was slow to start blogging because I really didn‘t think I had anything to say. Seriously I didn‘t, and I still don‘t, but I don‘t let that stop me. It was Jason, Rambles of a University Systems Manager who prodded me to start. We were having a discussion one day when Jason said something like, "Dude, you really need to be blogging this stuff!" Or something like that. He probably took a lot longer to actually say it. Anyway, I was putting the pressure on these two colleagues. Ben took up the challenge by stating that he would start again just as soon as I passed his Technorati ranking. Well, that happened the very next day and Ben is back at it. Love it! Ben is a brilliant guy and I‘m so glad he will be sharing his thoughts with us once again.

Which leaves us with just one last hold-out to bring into the fold. We‘re all wondering what is on Twig‘s mind? Look for the Inkling market later today, "Will Twig start blogging before July 1, 2007?" Once we've accomplished that we'll change our focus to Jason, "Will Jason start twittering before December 2007?
