QOTD: Chiara Fox

Finding things is a science not an art, and designing that layer should not be taken lightly. Chiara Fox from Adaptive Path reminds us: IA: More Than Just Rearranging Marketing Sites.

Information architecture fits squarely in the infrastructure layer. It’s the support that everything else hangs on. If you can’t find what you are looking for, it doesn’t matter how well designed the item is.

Actually... I think information architecture is very much a science AND an art. You need a bit of both to pull it off.
