Cocooning more

Reality Check: The Implications of Elite Training

Yet it seems that only in a controlled environment, it is possible to train and prepare yourself for heights formerly unknown. This creates a dual environment problem, where you train for the outside world but not within that world. I'd love to promote training for the real world in the real world but it doesn't work this way.

So I bet you thought this post was going to be about biking? Nope, I just like to ride my bikes and try to do it as much as possible. What happens is what happens in that world. If I really wanted to get better I would concentrate on either road or mountain biking but not both. Nah!

But, I have been working hard to learn more about Ruby and R. Here I make progress in fits-and-spurts. Then I go back to the real world, get busy, forget it, and start over again somewhere short of what I‘d already learned. I‘m thinking I need to cocoon more. A lot more. Don‘t we all?

The site for this quote found me through Newzpile. I searched on "lifehacks". Very cool site.
