Social network analysis of the Mideast has an animated sociogram of the Mideast that is just flat fascinating.

...This map reflects the geographic connections in the region -- two countries are connected if they share a border. There are no repelling forces in this model. You should be able to arrange the nodes so that no two lines intersect. When comparing the two maps, can we see Israel's predicament?

To say the issues are enormously complex is an understatement.
